Steve digs clay, literally! For over 30 years, he has been returning to a stoneware clay deposit in the plains of central KS that he first explored on a field trip while in college. What started as a way for a struggling young student/potter to cut some costs, developed into a passion for taking the pottery process all the way back to the earth itself. The Frys find it very rewarding to be intimately involved with the entire process, from digging and processing raw materials to interacting with the final users of the products of their hands and minds.
